Since bursting onto the music scene with the release of her 1994 debut single, “Feel What You Want,” Kristine W has become a dance-club staple, selling over 300,000 albums and singles in the United States and having songs licensed to more than 150 compilation CDs.
A former Miss Washington, who placed first in the talent portion of the Miss America pageant, she began singing and dancing at an early age. After moving to Las Vegas to attend school and perform, Kristine W. eventually landed a spot as the lead in her own Las Vegas Hilton show. Signed to RCA in the mid-’90s, she released her major-label debut, Land of the Living, in 1996 and followed that with Stronger four years later.
Though not yet released, her latest album, appropriately titled The Power of Music (set for nationwide release June 9), has already produced four No. 1 Singles: “Walk Away,” “The Boss,” “Never” and “Love is the Look.”
With these chart-toppers, Kristine W. is now ranked fifth among performers with multiple No. 1’s on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play List, bested only by Madonna, Janet Jackson, Donna Summer and Mariah Carey.
